His teachers even sent me an email from his daycare specifically about his “Coordinated Ball Kicking” stating: ‘Sebastian requested balls from the outside shed. He placed a ball on the ground in front of him, exclaimed “kick” and attempted to kick the ball. His foot skimmed over the ball causing Sebastian to lose his balance and fall on his bottom. He immediately got up, lined the ball up again and kicked it, exclaiming “kick” once again. The ball travelled at least four metres straight ahead. Sebastian raced after the ball and continued to kick it several more times, repeatedly calling out “kick” as he did so. Several peers showed an interest in his ball kicking and attempted to kick balls too.’ Implications For Learning - Sebastian requested an activity that interested him, indicating a developing confidence in his environment. He demonstrated good eye-foot coordination for his age.
