Hello My name is Kama [they/them] & I am a multilingual writer, visual artist, performer, translator, educator & I believe in love, compassion & justice. I am wholeheartedly invested in ocean narratives, island sovereignty, transgender poetics and ancestral healing. My body of work is hybrid, challenging colonial notions of space and time as these relate to history, power, language, subject formation and the body. In 2020, I published a book called ZOM-FAM (@metonymypress), a collection of sweet lyric poems that I wrote from the heart for the child who lives in me & for my home island, Mauritius.
