universi-tea: Hey everyone! To start the workshop off right, let’s have ourselves a little planner crash course. types of planners Daily: This is what I use, and it’s perfect to keep track of school, work, and extra curriculars. Good for anyone with a busy schedule. Weekly: Good for keeping track of assignments/work when your basic schedule is the same every week (i.e. class every MWF) so you don’t necessarily need to write it down to remember it. Monthly: This gives you your month at a glance. To me, this type seems a bit impractical if you have a busy schedule, but if most days you just have one or two things going on then this would be perfect. Most daily/weekly planners have monthly overviews, as well. Bullet Journals: Totally customizable, but time consuming. You can use it for anything you want, and spent as much time making it pretty as you want. A studyblr favorite. The more ~aesthetic~ choice. Online Calendars: Since your phone already has one built in, this is the cheapest and easiest choice. Pro: always with you. Con: not very versatile, depending on the app you use – not as many choices for color coding/organization. Good for people who are always on the go. finding a system that works Think about your schedule – how much do you have going on? do you have enough to need a daily planner, or will a weekly work? Think about your lifestyle – are you always on the go, and need something you can take with you? would you enjoy putting work into a bullet journal? Think about your planning style – do you need a detailed, hour-by-hour plan to stay on track, or will a quick to-do list suffice? Your system may be a combination of things – I personally like to use a daily planner, in combination with my phone’s reminder app. Any system that works for you is good, even if it’s not one listed! As long as you remember to use it, anything can work. a few recommendations Top pick for a daily planner: Day Designer Top picks for a weekly planner: Moleskine and Day Designer/Blue Sky Top picks for monthly calendars: Day Designer and Rifle Paper Co.
