I love Helena Bonham Carter and I love the idea of her playing a book accurate Bellatrix. She was the best actress for the part imo, since she can embody every facet of the multifaceted Bellatrix very well. However, I hate how the films portrayed Bella. They took one facet of hers, then exaggerated it to the maximum, and turned her more into a female Greyback instead of book Bellatrix. Both in appearance and the characterisation. I must say wasting HBC’s potential like that is the biggest missed opportunity and disgrace of the films, followed only by their portrayal of Voldemort. Even movie Ron and Ginny are better written than movie Bellatrix and Voldemort. -- source link
