Bodys Isek Kingelez: Nippon TowerTake a closer look at Nippon Tower (2005) in Bodys Isek Kingelez: City Dreams and you’ll see a quirky combination of found objects—a plastic Smint box, a milk carton, BIC razor blades, and lightbulb boxes, and a playfully shaped plastic spoon. This work can perhaps be understood as a portrait of the Congolese artist through his materials—the brands he may have favored, and what he had on hand in his studio at the time.
