Some ancient political advertising – Roman propaganda cups advertising Cato the Younger’s camp
Some ancient political advertising – Roman propaganda cups advertising Cato the Younger’s campaign for tribune and Catiline’s for consul in the year 62 BCE. Cups like these would have been filled with food or drink and then handed out in the streets as part of a candidate’s campaign. When the food or wine was consumed, voters would see the name of the candidate who had provided them with their refreshments.{WHF} {HTE} {Medium} -- source link
