COVID-19 is a crisis of capitalism as much as anything else. This could have been brought under control far more quickly for a start, if numerous governments first response hadn’t been worrying about corporate profits. The USA and UK governments are among the worst offenders. Vile behaviours including stockpiling for profit with price gouging are among the other aspects of the capitalist disease.And we don’t need “new and improved capitalism”, we need this dangerous system done away with alltogether. COVID-19 hit, and capitalisms first response was to fall flat on it’s ugly face and threaten the entire planet. Apart from anything else, the corrupt propagandists and apologists for capitalism (right-wingers and many liberals) can’t cover over its flaws so well during this rapidly escalating event, unlike climate-change (which will actually prove to a FAR worse crisis in the long run).Our lives have once again been put at a far lower priority than profits.  -- source link
