Buff Belt. Earn your buff belt in naturism! It might be surprising but naturism has a lot in common with the martial arts. Both require time and dedication and have a progression. The “white belt” stage is where the clothes come off for the first time. Maybe it’s sitting around a room, hanging out in the house or skinny dipping. Some leave it at that, but naturists go further. The next belt is earned when nudity becomes more individual. The practitioner does things like read a book, watch television, or play games nude. Simple everyday life things. The more they commit to the lifestyle the faster they rise through the ranks. Be careful! Just like in real life, if things go too fast there could be burn out, if it’s too slow boredom. The progression and discipline are different for everyone. Move at the pace that’s right for you. There are plenty of ranks and achievements to earn. Some involve joining social groups. Others deal with friends and families. There’s always something new and exciting to strive for.Then comes a point when naturism stops being about where and how and just is. This is mastery. Of course we still practice, but the focus is more on helping others, expanding acceptance, or continuing to make it a part of life. Everyone thinks attaining a black belt is the end of the journey. Do doctors stop being a doctor when they get their doctorate? Why would naturists get dressed after coming so far? Earning a buff belt in naturism is an achievement to be proud of.
