1863-project-art:OC-tober: Day 12Arthur Nash - The World Turned Upside DownArthur doesn’t teach at Cambridge or any of that business, but he does have a lot of common sense, just enough musical talent to be interesting, and a successful business and a house so he’s doing well enough. He rents a room or two to his best friend Erasmus to give him a quiet place to work off-campus (and to sleep), but it’s really just an excuse for them to keep hanging out since the two of them and Arthur’s wife Rose are all really close and enjoy each other’s company. Notably, Arthur and Rose are two of the few people who know Erasmus is into men, so they do their best to protect him from being found out. Normal evenings are spent by the three of them discussing philosophical things and how they tie in to the awful stuff happening all around them. Arthur isn’t exactly a fan of how things are going, and he’s made that clear business-wise, refusing to sell anything to anyone who is too zealous on either side because he’s become really distrustful of the whole thing.Arthur is, as mentioned above, happily married to Rose, Amphilis’s cousin. He’s also more than happy to follow her when she elects to travel with Amphilis and company for safety, especially since he knows being with this group is probably better for everyone given what they believe and how they feel about the entire conflict. He packs up his business and transfers it to a new base of operations at Amphilis’s family estate in Essex, where it helps to sustain the team’s efforts to get in the way and make the war more difficult for everyone to fight in.Also as mentioned above, Arthur has a gift for music and has been known to pick up instruments very quickly. He’d be able to start a band if he had the time… -- source link
