DIY Inspiration: Paint Realistic Trees on Your WindowsHow did kahleesky paint her window? (source):I just put up some painters tape to make a clean edge and broke it up along the way so they wouldn’t look too even and uniform. Then I used acrylic paint and just started painting away with the trees outside my windows as a guide. The very first tree I did, you can tell I started off making the lines kind of thin and it started too look too much like zebra stripes, so I added in more blotches and tried my best to make it look more like bark. The big blob on the very left tree was a bit of an accident that ended up looking good, so I just went with it from there. I painted all of the trees white first and dry brushed a little bit over them so some looked like they were peeling. Then, I would use the black and try to fade it out as best as I could. A lot of the placement was experimental.I think anyone could do this very easily. If you look at a couple other comments I made, I explain what I did in more detail. Its basically just painters tape where you want the trees, a layer of white acrylic, and then black or brown wherever you want the stripes. :)*You can remove the paint with a credit card, plastic razor, or a regular razor. -- source link
