annoyingwizard: The whole family watched with glee [at least we younger siblings did], as our stepmother put our older [often bossy and arrogant] sister *in her place*. She lauded her age over us and always had some snide remark or something to say whenever we were punished and thought she was beyond our stepmother’s *control* and too old to still be spanked. That misconception/misapprehension  was cleared up quite dramatically one day, when Sissy answered back, when preparing to go out on a date, and told what time she was *expected home* She told mom, she “must be kidding”, that, “I don’t have to listen to you” ,”You’re Not my Mother” “I’ll be home when I damn well feel like being home”! That night, when her date called for her, [and sissy had already been *put to bed*, crying like a baby] , he was told, “Sissy was not feeling very well and would not be going out for a few days”. When asked what was wrong, mother could not help but tell him, “sudden lower back pains” which Lucy [the ten year old] added with an impish grin, “Yeah real lower back pain”. Her boyfriend left puzzled. He probably didn’t understand our family *dynamics* and what had just taken place.
