allyallyorange:Another panel redraw!! This time featuring some great kidsThe original panel here without any context is absolutely indecipherable. I’m operating on a firm base of knowledge regarding whom these characters are but absolutely no one within the frame is emoting anything remotely complementary enough for a general assumption regarding what the fuck is happening here to be made beyond reasonable doubt. Like at first glance, this is just a nice, friendly scene of an older Titans lineup goofing around and playfully ganging up on Dick in a harmless pillow fight. But in looking at it longer than 2 seconds, this shit exists beyond comprehension. Dick’s neck? Snapped with enough force to emit a visible shock wave. And if that did not do him in instantly, a pillow thrown with enough alien-strength velocity to change its shape into what resembles a speeding bullet will finish the job a split second after this frame. Victor, former football star and current enhanced cyborg, looks like he’s either trying to tackle Dick to inflict the most amount of pain possible in the very short timeframe Dick has left to live, OR, is dead set on saving his friend from the others (but, as established, his actions, though noble, would be futile). It certainly looks like Raven pelted his head with a Clue set (which is objectively hilarious), but in looking at the notes, apparently Dick was holding the game before this all happened which opens up so many more questions.Did the Titans finally snap and turn to homicide because Dick (son of the world’s greatest detective) wanted them to play Clue? How is Dick completely unable to predict/react to this even in the slightest???So if Dick was holding this before the attack, and it’s still high in the air, that must mean this was premeditated, right? Like, how else would they all be prepared and in position to get to this point before the Clue set even hit the ground? Like it seems to be still at the apex of its arc, meaning it technically hasn’t even started to fall yet. And Raven had a paper airplane made which has already hit Dick in the head, and somehow pivoted 180 degrees to gain altitude instead of just falling down after losing it velocity.They would have had to plan this; I can’t even entertain the notion that they all simultaneously decided to do this completely individually yet at the same exact time??? Which kinda eliminates the possibility that this is Victor reacting and trying to save Dick, unless he knew about the plan and either had a sudden change of heart or was just a second too late to stop it. Also: the manic laughter in red front spreading the length of the panel? the way none of them look like they’re dressed for the same event, season, or time of day? How the action line suggesting the arc of Donna’s pillow means that her arms swung almost diagonally down from behind her head when the way her body is facing renders that motion nearly impossible and also, I would assume, pretty much ineffective?I mean likely the artist was just on a time crunch and this happened because they needed their paycheck and didn’t assume that decades later someone would take such grand opposition to this after seeing it posted on an all but obsolete hell-site. (Very good redraw, op!!) -- source link
