On the reverse ΦAΛA-NN-AIΩN is written around a horse prancing to the right.Phalanna (or Phallana) was the capital city in Perrhaebia, the northernmost district of ancient Thessaly, where the tribe of Perrhaebi lived. Philip II of Macedon freed the Perrhaebi from Thessaly in the 4th century BC and took their kingdom into Macedonian control, under which it remained until Roman conquest in 196 BC.
