The Hierodules known as Ossipago, Famulimus and Barbatus from Gene Wolfe’s Book of the New Sun
The Hierodules known as Ossipago, Famulimus and Barbatus from Gene Wolfe’s Book of the New Sun. Also derogatorily referred to as Cacogens. Hierodule translates to “Holy Slave”, whereas Cacogen means “Horror Creator”. Basically these things are Wolfe’s interpretation of the whole ‘ancient alien’ trope, though as usual, is subverted in masterful and unpredictable ways.Follow me on Twitter y’all. https://twitter.com/deimosremus -- source link
