No community wants to be defined by the worst things they’ve experienced. This series isn’t a submission to the oppression olympics or a pity party. I want to educate people in order to help connect the dots so we can see how the same kind of racism twists and evolves over time, but hasn’t gone away. Some events you might recognize, like the Chinese Exclusion Act, or Executive Order 9066 which was signed 79 years ago on this day.
