I’ve always been interested in the Horned Lark, (Eremophila alpestris) since I first saw a drawing of it in an old bird field guide. I had my first encounter with one (as seen here) at Joeseph D. Grant County Park in San Jose, CA just two days ago. Surprisingly there were a good number of them hanging out by the trails, and they weren’t terribly shy. -- source link
