thebristolboard:If there was a Mt. Rushmore of superhero artists, in my opinion it would contain Kirby, Ditko, Byrne and George Perez, and as a child of the ‘80s, Perez is my personal favorite. On every panel he worked on, he balanced exquisite detail with stunning clarity (who draws curly hair better?) He brought depth and personality to every character he touched. His architecture and anatomy were always top-notch and his compositions were imaginative and often breathtaking. There are so many great series I could mention – Avengers, Teen Titans, Fantastic Four, Justice League, Crisis on Infinite Earths, etc. (any other Ultraforce fans out there?) – but my personal favorite was Wonder Woman, which I would argue is not only the definitive take on her iconic character, but also one of the single greatest superhero runs in the history of the medium. I re-read these stories last year and they hold up incredibly well. There are no words to express how grateful I am to Mr. Perez for his life’s work in comics. I’m sure we all wish him comfort and peace in these last precious days, and I hope that he feels satisfied with a life very well lived. Thank you, George! RIP George Perez. ♥️ -- source link
