Out of twelve children, six boys and six girls, Katherine was the youngest daughter of King Charles VI of France and Isabella of Bavaria. Katherine would marry King Henry V with whom she had one son, the future Henry VI, who succeeded his father at the age of just 10 months. After being a widow for several years Katherine secretly re-married the Welshman Owen Tudor. With Owen, Katherine likely had four children, most notable Edmund and Jasper Tudor. She was grandmother to King Henry VII and great-grandmother to Henry VIII.Pictured: Catherine of Valois from “The Heroines of Shakespeare: Comprising the Principal Female Characters in Plays of the Great Poet”, c.1860; Melanie Thierry as princess Catherine of Valois in “The Hollow Crown” (2012) -- source link
