padmemeswagidala:babeyouresocool:My first ever original characters! Heather and Rocket (or Ronald, but don’t tell anyone I told you his real name).Rocket was turned into a vampire in 1973 at age 23, at someparty (he doesn’t really remember what happened, he just sort ofwoke up undead). In the very same week of his transformation, he wasdecapitated in a car accident, but he survived thanks to his newlyacquired immortality. As of 2017, he’s 66 years old (about to turn67, but don’t remind him) and is still stuck in the 70s. He rocks the high waisted trousers, and patterned shirts, andhates all the modern hipsters along with all the people that mistakehim for one. One of his eyebrows is shaved because just before he“died” he was interested in the punk scene crossing over fromEngland (where he was born) to America (where he grew up), althoughright after doing so, he deeply regretted it, and ended up “dying”with it, so now he’s stuck with a chunk of his eyebrow missing forthe rest of his undead life. He only listens to vinyl, most of hiscollection is from the years of his human life, but his secret guiltypleasure is 00s indie rock music (especially Avril Lavigne). His eyes are extremely sensitive to sunlight, naturally, so healways carries around a pair of vintage sunglasses, and always keepsan umbrella just in case he wants to go outside. Contrary to popularbelief, the sun does not kill vampires (or sparkle), it’s justextremely uncomfortable. He often worries about living forever, andwould like to find a way to die eventually, not yet though becausevinyl is making a comeback.Heather is one ofRocket’s best friends. They met when she was 17 (or 3 years ago) at agas station, where she didn’t have enough money to buy gum so Rocketgave her a dollar to quit holding up the line. The line being onlyhim. She got annoyed at him for throwing money at her face, andcalled him a “filthy hipster”. This encounter blossomed into abeautiful friendship. Her friends like to swoon overhow “hot” Rocket is, but Heather just sees him as an old man. She teases him for being so stuck in the 70s and refusing to getwith the times. Sometimes Heather wears sunglasses with Rocket whenthey go outside, even if it’s not sunny, just so he doesn’t feellike a weirdo. One day she hopes to help him find a cure for hisimmortality, at least before she kicks the bucket herself, but they stillhave a good 60 years to go.I love them. I want to hear more about their adventures. -- source link
