strongcatra:lesbiansforwangxian: citadelspires: zackuro-kou: strongcat: marahoping: y’all heard her thanks noelle but maybe put more canon trans characters in your show next time Just thought I’d leave this here. Being hyper critical of a show that is doing its best for minority representation does nothing to help that they did try. They are paving the way for the next cartoon / or any media in general. Please pass on the message as you see fit. I’m not even the biggest she ra fan I’m just tired of people clowning on every media that attempts to have lgbtq+ representation, good post [ID: The first two images show two tweets from Noelle Stevenson. The first one says: “She-Ra’s not for transphobes bye.” The second one says: “You have to love trans people to watch she-ra my house my rules.” The second image is a screenshot of a reblog by the user @/AYellowBirds. It says: “If i remember correctly, character designer responsible for her said that Perfuma was designed with the intent of being trans, but by the time it was clear that they would’ve been able to get that on Netflix, she had already been cast with a cis actress and they didn’t want to have weak representation of saying it after the fact. Later cast additions Double Trouble (nonbinary) and Jewelstar (trans man) are both canon in-fiction and played by trans/NB voice actors.” End ID] And one more thing: [ID: A screenshot of a wiki page, titled “Personal Life.” The text under it says: “Noelle grew up in the United States, in North Carolina with her parents and siblings. In July 2018, she got engaged to fellow cartoonist Molly Ostertag. In September 2019, they got married. / On July 14, 2020, Stevenson came out as nonbinary.” End ID] I don’t know when the original post was made, but Noelle did come out as nonbinary at least one month after those tweets, and they’ve also talked about how they based Double Trouble heavily on how they perceived their own gender and their own relationship with it. hey, it’s me, the trans woman who made that comment. i want to come back and address some stuff about this post and why it still troubles me. please engage with this in good faith. i love she-ra with my whole heart, and i’m a fan of noelle and their other work as well. the original comment was made before he came out. i’m going to put all of this under a cut so as not to clog the dash.
