I wanted to make Ariel more biologically accurate while still looking like herself. That means adding blubber, changing her fish tail to a mammal’s, and giving her bigger muscles. Although her long hair would only serve as drag, I kept it because of sexual selection. Peacocks have long tail feathers that make it harder to fly, but they still kept them to impress females. -- source link
