concentratedridiculousness:Since apparently no one outside the Jewish community cares about this, I thought I’d make a news report.This morning a gunman with suspected links to the Charlie Hebdo attack took multiple hostages in a Kosher supermarket in Porte de Vincennes, a prominent Jewish community in eastern Paris. At least four hostages were killed before police stormed the market and shot the gunman.This attack is connected not only to the Charlie Hebdo shooting earlier this week, but to a rise in anti-Semitic violence in Paris and across Europe in recent months.“We are past red alert at this stage, it’s all hands on deck because, sadly, the question is not whether the French Jewish community will be targeted, but when,” Chlomik Zenouda, vice-president of the National Bureau for Vigilance against anti-Semitism, told JTA before the assault on the supermarket.
