‘A Moment to Rest’ drops as a print Thurs Nov 25th, 12PM (PT) on my store!This painting was for my exhibition, ‘Breathe.’ The red string that wraps around the figure is a reference to the Chinese legend, ‘the red thread of fate.’ The original legend is about the fated bond between soulmates, but for this piece I wanted to reinterpret it to a story about us being connected to our own individual fated stories by this unbreakable string. I loved this idea, that no matter how many times the thread gets tangled or how many times we trip over, we’re still on the same journey to that same end.In other words: even though shit happens along the way, things will work out the way they’re meant to be. -- source link
