bogleech: I know I JUST did a mermaid monster with a similar ability but one of the very oldest Mortasheen monsters was a venus fly trap succubus thing I called Widoweed, its design never felt quite like a Mortasheen monster, it never felt like worthy representation of a fly trap for the setting, the “weed” part of the name didn’t feel right and it didn’t have enough “character” I guess. It was too serious!I’ve meant to redo that monster for almost 15 years and finally have as the monster Lascivenus, with its whole profile here.This kind of purple/mauve/pink is my most overused color scheme in the setting, but all botanical type Mortasheen lack chlorophyll and avoid having green plant tissues. It just so happens, fly traps and many other carnivorous plants frequently adopt pink and red colors anyway.It still feels kind of flat to me like a lot of these, though I messed with shading and highlighting for hours.Extra drawing in case you’re not sure what its overall “face” really is: -- source link
