Kind of reminds me of the Pygmalion statue myth Zoe Kazan was inspired by. When Calvin meets Ruby or a Ruby look-alike for the second time she is no longer being idealized and romanticized by “the golden sun rays that illuminate her face” with the use of a dramatic low angle- there is a sense of balance and reality in the shot. -- source link
