GALTx eNews: Seeking Special People For Special Pups! When we say “No Grey Turned Awaytm” we mean we won’t turn a Greyhound away because of a medical need or circumstance that makes adoption more challenging. Consequently, we sometimes find ourselves with special pups needing special people. For instance, Buddy (pictured) recently joined the GALT family at about 9 years old because his owner could no longer care for him. He is already nearly blind and will eventually lose all of his vision. He has a heart as big as Texas and just needs a special family that can spend a lot of time giving him the love he wants. Buddy appears to be cat tolerant and would do well with another large dog that doesn’t want to play too much with him.Truman joined us from a cruelty seizure at six years old. He lost a leg earlier in life due to an injury he suffered in a schooling race and has Discoid Lupus Erythematosus, a treatable condition affecting the skin on his nose. His prognosis is good, but he needs a family willing to manage his medications and follow up vet visits. Truman is cat friendly. Our little gremlins, Nick and Nora, came from an Oklahoma cruelty seizure and were so thin that they looked like Greyhound puppies. They are now about a year old and DNA test results show they are American Staffordshire Terrier with a little Boxer mixed in. Nick and Nora are as bonded as a pair can be and need to find a forever home together. These two are each under 40 pounds, potty trained, kennel trained in a play pen, and cat tolerant. If you’re the right special person for any of these special pups, please let your adoption coordinator know or complete our on-line application here.1/29/2021 -- source link
