castleoflions: Welcome back for another comparison of the original Japanese text against the official English translations! This month, there are only a few minor things that I noticed were a little odd. Nothing is egregiously wrong, per say, but some subtlety may have been lost when the text was localized for an English-speaking audience. I also realize this is a quirk of my own reading and translating style, where I prefer to know what’s actually being said in Japanese, and try to convey that very closely in English, sometimes to the point that the words feel less natural and a bit more mechanical. I wouldn’t normally be such a stickler for this but…well…we’ve seen what happens sometimes in these translations. Thankfully, it’s really a case of preference this month, though there are a few points that I think could benefit those who want to know exactly what Mary, Yumeko, and Kirari said to each other.
