The lower images show what is happening right now.After a series of large rainfalls in the south of Brazil and Argentina, engineers were forced to open the floodgates on the dams that control the river upstream, allowing the largest flood in the falls’ recorded history. The flow rate represented in the lower images is reportedly up to 33 times the normal water volume.
