dollsonmain: Ok, so…. Today is Nov. 7, 2018. On Oct. 20, I decided I needed to really, finally, truly get a handle on my disastrous house. Which isn’t easy because I’m disabled and spend a lot of time stuck in a chair. So I picked ONE thing to work on, to try to keep it clean. One of the worst areas in the house: The Kitchen Island. So I cleaned that, put everything that was on it AWAY, and then the table looked really shitty, so I cleaned that, too. Next day, they were a disaster again, and I was mad about it. I had just come home with a load of junk from the Goodwill and cleaned everything that needed cleaned, including the so very 80′s plastic swan filled with glitter encrusted flowers, which also got molding flash removal and a repaint to make it even MORE 80′s. (I didn’t take a good before photo, but most of the paint on it’s face was gone, and the beak was chipped red. And it was just filthy…) I plunked that sucker down right in the center of the kitchen island. And I have kept both it and the table (other than a book my son is working on reading) clean ever since. That might not seem like a lot of time, but this is the longest those surfaces have been clean since we moved in 11 years ago. -- source link
