wednesdaydreams: My Top Films of 2015 1-10, 11-20, Honorable Mentions Another year has come and gone and this year I’ve compiled my Year End Best Of lists much earlier than usual— I usually dawdle to January but this year I knew I had seen all the films that I would care about. The films I care about, the stories I care about are women’s stories. I didn’t even fully realize this until I finally finished writing about all the films and glanced at all the pictures that they hardly featured men. That they were all about women (perhaps not Macbeth, but we still have Marion Cotillard’s incredible Lady Macbeth). Of all types of females, from a little girl who can transform into a selkie to a 94 year old teenager. From a female assassin in the Tang Dynasty to a group of Turkish sisters living near the Black Sea. My list is very personal, the choices are about the stories that I related to and enjoyed the most, as is the order they are in. I share them hoping someone finds a story they are interested in.
