sighinastorm:bantarleton:I think there might be some inaccuracies in this -_-The canton in the flag is too large (the first stripe below the it should be white, not red), and oh my lord is that a friggin’ KATANA instead of a saber? I am disgusted. The pistol, however, is amazingly similar to a matched pair with damascus barrels made by Honore Blanc and gifted to George Washington by his BFF Lafayette. For a while they were owned by Andrew Jackson. That guy frickin’ loved shooting people. Not too long ago they were auctioned by Christie’s for about 2 million USD, but you can get an airsoft version for under 200, or an inert desk piece for half that. Lastly, and maybe this is just a coincidence, but the coat on the third model, blue with buff facing, jibes perfectly with the cannon behind. Such uniforms, originally made in France and allocated by lottery, were specifically called to use by the New York artillery unit of the Continental Army. Alexander Hamilton probably wore one. It is absolutely the proper vintage and origin, right down to the details of the carriage construction. British Armstrong pattern, circa 1760, 4-lb shot. Unfortunately it’s that neat carriage that marks it as a deck cannon, for naval ships or forts, when it should be a field cannon (you know, with the giant wheels, for pulling it around over land)! I always wondered how they got Artoo-Detoo so far through Endor’s lush and pavement-free forests with those luggage wheels under his stumps. -- source link
