Denman Arena under construction, 1911When the Denman Arena opened at the corner of Georgia and Denman in 1911, it was Canada’s first artificial ice rink and the largest one outside of New York City. It was built by hockey brothers Frank and Lester Patrick and was home to the Vancouver Millionaires, who won the city’s only Stanley Cup there in 1915. It burned to the ground in 1936.Source: BC Archives #D-09164 -- source link
