harrypotterconfessions:I still can’t stand the final closing shot during the epilogue in Deathly Hallows part 2. Not because of the pairings, but because -as was the case throughout the later films- Ron is physically (and symbolically) kept away from Harry, with Hermione closer to Harry than both the Weasleys. Considering that both Harry and Hermione were closer to Ron than each other in the books, that final shot just sums up how the films completely altered (and -arguably- ruined) the trio’s dynamic. They relayed him as the third-wheel-comedic-friend who can’t do nothing without the other two. What they did in Prisoner of Azkaban when they’re in the Shrieking Shack is the worst. Letting him just be there, afraid and giving all courageous things he does in the book to Hermione when it is her who’s dead frighten of what’s happening.I stood up with his broken leg, shielding Harry when he’s in incredible pain, not caring about this for one seconde! If you want to kill Harry, you’ll have to kill us too! he said fiercely, though the effort of standing up had drained him of still more colour and he swayed slightly as he spoke. -- source link
