Galway Hotel concept by Taras Kashko aims at splicing modern design into Paris’ historic district.Designed by Ukrainian architect Taras Kashko, this dramatic design for a modular hotel in Paris is a stark contrast to the surrounding architecture in Paris. 25 guest rooms would be built into the floor space, with a lounge bar and shops on the ground floor. The design allows for the maximum amount of space for guests while achieving what the architect calls ‘a soothing harmony between contemporary architecture and the existing historical environment’. I for one love this concept. The perforated metal exterior is a real showstopper. Metal cladding is becoming increasingly popular in new builds and the architect has found a great balance here… assuming it would translate into reality successfully.
