When Nadia Sablin was 12, her family moved from St. Petersburg, Russia, to Cleveland. “It was quite a shock, the shock of my life; I don’t think I ever recovered,” Sablin said about the move that happened around the time of the collapse of the Soviet Union.But her early years were not forgotten. During a hike in the Carpathian Mountains in 2007, Sablin came across a hut where people were making cheese. She became fascinated with the structure and recognized the attraction stemmed from the memories of a very similar house in which she spent summers during her childhood in rural Russia.
