“I love teaching mathematics because of the relationships that I am able to build with students each year. When students come to my class, I want them to feel capable, noticed, respected, cared about. I know that lots of students have math phobia, so one of my main goals is to change their self-perception and attitude towards learning math. One thing I have noticed is that change starts on the personal level. It is not only about teaching math; it is also about helping young women develop as individuals who are able to articulate their thoughts and ideas. And especially teaching at an all-girls school with a predominately Black and Latinx student body, it is important that they have someone in their lives that is not afraid to be themselves. I am grateful to be one of those people for them.” - Nina Granberry, Issue 5 - The Work Edition.
