Malevolent spirits encroach on Ever-Autumn, strengthened under the cover of darkness. All needed to be dealt with before visitors were once more welcomed in daylight.It was exhausting, but the brief hours in which her, Telyn - and Near, too - were all the reward she needed.Her charge was happy, genuinely happy. He finally seemed to be behaving like a person; talking, laughing, and telling her about his and Near’s plans for the day and the like.In hindsight, she likely should have seen it coming with just how long she left the two fae together alone - but it hadn’t quite occurred to her that it was possible for the two of them to have a clutch together.Nonetheless, they were happy and that was what mattered, and it was touching to hear Telyn so proudly describing each egg to his mate.Weeks later she awoke to a tap on the nose.
