The hospital gave us these lanyards today. Told us that each bead was hand made by rolling paper over and over again and dipping it in varnish. The organization provides a home for victims of sexual assault or war crimes in Uganda that is funded by donations and the sale of these lanyards. … we were told to imagine each bead as a celebration of the outstanding diversity within the patient population we will serve.
