postmoderngrime:black-geek-supremacy:jerkcules:black-geek-supremacy:the-afro-elf:jehovahhthickness:Wow Alot of younger black anime fans are unaware that DBZ was hi-key racist AF, especially the early episodes. YepI was reading somewhere that older anime depicted black people like that because when the US occupied Japan after WWII they brought all that racist shit with them, so that was most Japanese people’s main exposure to black people. The US got better about depictions of black people, but Japan didn’t get the memo because they weren’t exposed to it. It didn’t start getting better until the mid 90′s, when anime became worldwide and people called anime creators out on it. Sounds about rightDamn Americans and their racism -- source link
