Have you ever wondered to yourself “How do they do it? How do they always get my order so perfectly right? How do they always manage to get that half piece of cheese on my fish filet instead of on the side of the box?” Practice. That’s how! McDonalds and Nintendo got together back when the DSi was the new big thing and put together a unique training tool. It was a DSi specifically made for McDonald’s to train employees. The DSi itself brandishes a gloss black McDonald’s logo against a matt black finish on the console. The program would run trainees through different orders that they would have to fulfill correctly. They had to build burgers in the correct order, shake the oil off of fries before putting them into their container, and fill drink orders. Employees were encouraged to take the console and practice on their commute home. It’s not known how many of these were in each store location, but if each store had one, that would put estimates around 3,700 of these that were made. Because these were never intended to leave McDonalds, much less Japan, these are incredibly rare. I’d personally been looking for one for just under 3 years before I got this one. I even had one get lost in the mail on its way to me within that time. F in the chat to pay respects to the lost DSi and also for all my sad fish fillet sandwich’s. R.I.P.
