bluealicerose:ALERT! ALERT! Everyone! If you would just spare a moment to hear me out, that’d be super! Okay! Please! Stop reblogging this post! Why? I shall tell you why! This is a whole deal of misinformation! I cannot stand it any longer! Now, please sit back and read over why there are so many things wrong with this post!________________________________________________________Alright. Now that I got your attention, let me elaborate on the matter. This post. It’s very incorrect. Here’s why. You see that music sheet? Yes? Good. Do you see the name? Yes, the name. Ah, “Faerie’s Aire and Death Waltz”? Yes, that is the name! Okay. Step one completed. Now, Do you see that link to YouTube? Yes, that one. Okay, good. So, you may assume that that link leads to a video of what “Death Waltz” sounds like, yes? WRONG. That video is not what Death Waltz sounds like. Not at all. Nope. Let me explain:Okay. That link is actually a remix of a remix. Here’s the story:In 2002, the sixth installment a Japanese game apart of the Touhou Project series created by its sole founder, ZUN (Team Shanghai Alice) by the name of 東方紅魔郷(Touhou Koumakyou) ~ The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil was released. In this game, there is a track that I’m pretty sure several of you are familiar with, seeing how it’s quite popular. It is the theme of the Extra stage boss, Flandre Scarlet, or this little cutie right here:The theme is called “U.N. Owen was her?” and it sounds like this. Now the Touhou Project series is actually a pretty big thing in Japan. So much that fan groups, or Doujin Circles, make their own remixes of the music presented in these games. U.N. Owen Was Her? Happens to be one of the most popular track to be remixed; honestly there are so many remixes of this song it’d probably be impossible to listen to them all. However, one particular remix is very relevant to this situation. One of the members, BeatMARIO, in a doujin group by the name of COOL&CREATE created a certain remix. The remix sounds like this.Gee wiz, doesn’t THAT sound familiar? Why, indeed it does! Well then, what does that make the piano remix from that incorrect link? Just a piano remix. A piano remix of this song.“But Blue, What does this have to do with Death Waltz?” Well I’m glad you asked! You see, that video on YouTube is a lie. It’s not the Death Waltz. It’s not Death Waltz: U.N. Owen Was Her? It’s just U.N. Owen Was Her?; a remix, that is.This is what Death Waltz really sounds like. I know that that’s not the best link, but it was as accurate as I could find because apparently another video labeled as Death Waltz was a different piece. This is a link leading to a little bit more about the composer at least as best as I could find (poor guy doesn’t even have a Wikipedia page, as far as I’ve searched).A little bit more about Death Waltz: This music sheet is a form of art. Not a literal music piece that you play, but the kind you hang on your wall. It’s a joke piece. It was never meant to be played. Not because it’s impossible, but because it’s ridiculously satirical. Honestly, do you think that a piece with “insert peanuts” literally imprinted on the sheet would be an actual serious thing? Forget about it!!So…What does this all mean?It means that the YouTube link in that post has an incorrect title. It should just say something like “U.N. Owen Was Her? Synthesia/piano remix”, but it doesn’t. The uploader of the video won’t change it, and I’m more than certain that the video was take from Nico Nico Douga or something.“But Blue, why does this bother you so much? It’s just a song!”Well, here’s why. Touhou Project is honestly one of my most favorite things. I love it so much and have been involved with this series for about 3 years. It get’s me rather upset that so many people are misinformed on this thing, and it causes a whole deal of trouble. In short,This is the original. This is a remix by a fan-group.This is a piano/Synthesia remix/arrange of the remix.Faerie’s Aire and Death Waltz by John Stump has nothing to do with this. Only the fact that it was the title of something that wasn’t even correct. This is what Death Waltz actually sounds like. Also, this fine young gentleman addresses the matter as well. You should definitely give this video a watch.Okay. I think I’m done. I am so sorry that this was a long post, and I feel terrible for clogging up your dash, but please signal boost this or something! Get the word out that what people think is the Death Waltz is a lie! Okay! Thank you so much for your time!! -- source link
