He was introduced in 1917, armed with a 57 mm and 6 heavy machine gun MG 08.In february 1918 a test was effectued with the Kaiser himself. But according to Ludendorff, this test wasn’t so concluding… The total number of A7V was 20.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Un Sturmpanzerwagen A7V (N°504 “Schnuck”) capturé par une division néo-zélandaise a Frémicourt, Nord-Pas-De-Calais le 31 août 1918.Le Sturmpanzerwagen A7V fut le seul char d'assaut développé et déployé par l'armée allemande durant la Première Guerre mondiale. Il fût mis en service fin 1917 avec un armement principal un canon de capture de 57 mm et six mitrailleuses MG 08 en armement secondaire.Le 27 février 1918, une présentation avec tir réel eut lieu devant le Kaiser lui-même. Mais, si l'on en croit les mémoires de Ludendorff, cet exercice ne fit pas grande impression… La production totale s'élevait a 20 exemplaires. -- source link
