These two men represent the direction and future of modern masculinity (hyper masculinity). Every year we see men -younger and younger- involved in steroid use, although I don’t condone this, it is indicative of the direction in which men are headed. Obsessive over body image and sexual gratification.Reputation in the gym is a prime example of how the ‘alpha hierarchy’ can influence their decision making even if its subliminal or not -at face value- apparent. Most notably, in a recent survey it shone light on the ‘being too skinny v being too muscular’ debate. In short, 24% of the participants voted that being too brawny was a turn off as opposed to the 50% that said being too skinny was a turn off. In conclusion, its safe to say if you want to widen your sexual scope then being ‘too muscular’ isn’t a bad way to go about it.Now let’s talk about how being dumb correlates to being muscular, since the dawn of time, ‘college jocks’ and bodybuilders in general have been depicted as ‘hot-headed’ and academically inept. This could be due to several reasons: an obsessive infatuation with the gym and building muscle occupies their every thought and eventually a loss of interest in academia and education becomes inevitable. Whilst the argument stands that ‘dumb people are everywhere’ and not just in the gym, arguably, it’s the gym that attracts them in the first place, free from judgement and allows them a place to turn cognitive inferiority into physical exertion -some sort of therapy- for the mentally stupid…Men are often depicted as ‘hot-headed’ in TV programmers and in the media, and this certainly doesn’t stray from reality, men love to be in control of their loves. Whether that’s in their relationships; finances, work-life. Men are getting bigger, there is no lie about that. But whether their brains are doing the same is debatable. I believe men are devolving; becoming more ape-like, and this admittedly excites me. Imagine a future where strong-built men are no longer looked at like strong oxen or ‘meatheads’ but instead are integrated into our society: clothing sizes are changed to accommodate bigger men; larger condom sizes are manufactured on a wide scale and shirts and trousers (formality) becomes a thing of the past… -- source link
