I remember already being aware of it in elementary school, when boys would role their eyes when we did group work and I tried to actually do the work. I remember that shame, and how it prevented me from speaking up and from being a leader. I still get that response and that shame at my job, where I am literally paid to lead and to remind people to stay on schedule. -- source link
