In June, 2018, 25-year-old Yana Deinesh from Arkhangelsk, Russia, was working as a local nanny and was taking care of a boy who’s mother was always working. Yana would sometimes beat the boy with a belt and mock him. During one lunchtime, the boy was being ‘moody’ so she decided to punish him. She grabbed a tub of salt and poured almost half of it into the boy’s porridge and forcibly fed him it. Soon afterwards, the boy felt sick and lost consciousness. He was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. However, doctors did everything possible to save the boy’s life but despite all the efforts he died from salt poisoning. It was later uncovered that he had been forced to eat at least 50 grams of salt in one sitting. As a result, the dose of salt in his body exceeded the norm by 60 times and killed him almost instantly. Yana was arrested and confessed. She was charged with the murder of a minor. During interrogations she said that ‘she didn’t want the boy to die’. It must be noted that she is also a mother of two. In May, 2019, Yana was sentenced to 14 years imprisonment. -- source link
