Working on a bunch of stuff I can’t show yet so here are a few plein air paintings from my time in Akureyri, Iceland last year. Iceland’s second-largest city up on the northern coast is a wonderful, beautiful place, like the rest of the country. I absolutely loved the way the mountains loomed over the city, spending most of the day capped in mist as you see in the first image. In the third image you get a sense of scale - that blob on the left is a cruise ship which happened to be docked when we arrived.
