aegontheconquerorwithteats:Here are the Daenerys and Cersei pieces that I commissioned from the incredibly talented @pepelinkri.I love everything about them.I love Dany’s three-headed dragon crown, which even includes the silver wings that are hardly ever added. I love Dany’s purple tokar and the flowers in it. I love the four little bells in Dany’s hair indicating her victories. I love Dany’s ebony bench and cushion, which display her modesty. I love how Dany’s facial expression and position show that she’s friendly and unassuming. I love that Dany has an otherworldly beauty, but that her feet can’t even reach the ground. I love Cersei’s green gown; the color highlights her parallels with Alicent, accentuates her blood on the Iron Throne and, fittingly, is on the opposite side of magenta/purple (the color of Dany’s tokar) on the color spectrum. I love that Cersei’s gown and jewelry showcase her extravagance. I love Cersei’s blood flowing down the steps of the Iron Throne. I love the fog and the overall dreamlike atmosphere conveying Cersei’s nightmare. I love how Dany looks level-headed, in contrast to Cersei looking desperate. I love that Dany’s crown is heavy while Cersei’s is light, which reflects how wielding power to help people is a harder burden than using it merely to help oneself. I love the simplicity of Dany’s bench in contrast to the grandeur of the Iron Throne, which, by cutting Cersei, sets her apart as an unfit ruler (while Dany is shown to be a competent one in ADWD). I love the symmetry of Dany being below the steps of her hall and Cersei being above the steps of the Iron Throne, perfectly symbolizing their opposite leadership styles:George told me that Daenerys wants equality for everyone, she wants to be at the same level as her people.~ She dreamt she sat the Iron Throne, high above them all. (AFFC Cersei I)These are awe-inspiring pieces that excellently illustrate that Daenerys Targaryen and Cersei Lannister were deliberately written by GRRM as foils (which he pointed out multiple times). I can’t thank Nina enough for them! -- source link
