This is Japanese sign for LGBTQIA+. Deaf queers in Toronto adopted this sign with a permission by Deaf Queers from Japan. We usually fingerspell LGBTQIA, but we felt that fingerspelling is not accessible for all (for people with dyslexia, physical disabilities, etc.) so we wanted a LGBTQIA sign. [Image description: First two images are the sign LGBT in rainbow and POC color, and rainbow and trans color. The sign begins with both hands signing ‘L’. Non-dominant hand remains while dominant hands moves away in swirling movement, ending with index finger pointing toward the non-dominant hand. Last four images are the same illustrations on a shirt, a sticker, a magnet, and a zipper pouch.] -- source link
