RIP Neal Adams. He was the first comic artist that made me want to be one myself, I used to trace over him over and over and over to find out why he was so good, and how I could be just like him. If you can only read one Neal Adams issue, to see what he’s all about, check out Avengers #93, where Ant-Man has shrink to enter the damaged and inert android, Vision, to repair him, experiencing horrific mechanical antibodies and surreal internal landscapes.Adams’s X-Men is also likewise worth reading, easily the best looking the original team ever looked. Neal Adams was a true unique original, and in addition to his art, he was also an eccentric “amateur geologist” who rejected the existence of plate tectonics and supported the “growing earth” theory. I’m not sure he’s right about that, but anyone who is an original thinker is always worth your time. Oh, and who could forget Superman vs. Mohammad Ali? -- source link
