jima-toshi: shoushatohaisha: shoushatohaisha: screams, dies, evanesces, etc. my actual thoughts: over daisenshuuraku weekend i talked to several fans from both japan and overseas, and we all had the same thing to say: how can you possibly imagine engeki haikyuu without suga kenta? this is the answer! this makes so much sense as the next step forward. it gives us all time to move on from karasuno (inasmuch as… such a thing is possible…), while bringing to life a story arc that everyone is going to be SUPER excited about since it hasn’t even been animated yet, taking advantage of the hype for nekoma and fukurodani due the current manga storylines, and bringing back experienced actors who understand the engeki haikyuu way of doing things and can bring fresh ideas to the table while respecting what went before. when it comes down to it, the most important name in this announcement, for me, is worry kinoshita. since discovering engeki haikyuu i’ve gone to all types of shows all across the board because i trust anything worry-san does to be fresh and interesting and compelling, and i’ve never once been let down. so as long as he’s sticking around, so will i. having said that, i’m dying to know when they decided on producing this show next because the way takato and shouri were goodbye-crying and tweeting after hajimari no kyojin closed makes me feel like there’s no way they knew yet. also, i hope everyone on nekoma gives noah so much shit about terrace house. I entirely agree that Worry is the most important name here!!! While I haven’t had the chance to see much by him, I have seen the nogizaka Sailor Moon musical which he directed (and coincidentally, Shunsuke Wada did music for!) A lot of people were wary because idol group, but I was confident once I found out Worry was directing, and I was not disappointed at all. I’d already loved him based on Haikyuu and interviews, that really solidified my love because his ability to take a preexisting franchise, make the show something more and better than it was, while also giving proper respect to the previous iterations, but also functioning as a stand-alone. ALSO I’ve been wondering as well about when they decided this!! I’d actually speculated they would do this a while back. There was a conversation during the battle of the trash heap match between Ryoutarou and Shouri about wanting to do a particular scene, and something about their wording made it seem like Ryoutarou was jealous Shouri might get the chance to perform it. It was nothing outright, but it made me wonder, combined with the constant emphasis of being karasuno’s graduation. oh really, that’s interesting! shouri’s comment on the website mentioned that they’d talked earlier about how they wished they could do the match, but i couldn’t remember anything myself… excellent information. also YEAH i went to seramyu solely on the basis of the kinoshita/wada collab and i’m so impressed by their versatility tbh, the atmosphere was, like, magical. i went to see the june run, so i really want to see the DVD since i understand it was filmed in september and i’m sure they leveled up for the second run. :D -- source link
